There is no better smell than that of fresh bread. That and freshly brewed coffee…heaven…
And that moment when you slice of the end while it’s still slightly warm and spread with butter, oh my…
No bread machine needed here, just a loaf tin and your oven.

Yields: 1 loaf

  • 500g wholegrain flour
  • 7g or 1 packet yeast
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 2 tsp sea salt
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 350ml warm water
  • 1 tbsp each sunflower seeds & flaxseed (optional)

Place all ingredients into mixing bowl. If using a dough hook, mix on low/medium setting for around 7 minutes. If kneading by hand, knead for around 10 minutes.

Cover bowl with a tea towel and leave in a warm place to prove for 1 hour.

The dough should have doubled in size.

Place into an oiled loaf tin and bake at 180c for 50 minutes.

Remove from tin and leave to cool before slicing.

  • Cook time: 50 minutes + 1 hour
